Welcome to Tranquil Transitions

My goal is to provide practical and emotional support to individuals and their families facing end-of -life transitions to bring you peace of mind and heart using my professional and personal  experience

Hello, my name is Lisa Lasher

I am a mom, sister, daughter, friend and a professional project and change manager. For over 25 years I have helped clients transition to new ways of doing business through people, process and technology changes. I have also helped friends and family through their transitions of downsizing, loss, illness and grief with calmness and compassion.

I have watched people I love die, some suddenly and some very slowly. I was the executor of my father's estate and supported my mom through this and other changes. Supporting family and friends through their end-of-life challenges, I realized how practical organizational skills as well as understanding and compassion are required to help people during times of pain and loss.

I am a graduate of the End-of-Life Doula program at Douglas College and a member of the End-of-Life Doula Association of Canada, I also hold a MBA from Simon Fraser University. As an end-of-life coach, I have the tools and understanding to help you and your loved ones plan for your death with dignity and grace.

What is an End-of-Life Doula

A doula (pronounced DOO-luh) comes from the Greek word for Servant.  An end-of-life doula is a non-medical part of your end-of-life care team providing emotional, educational and practical support that empowers you and your family to make informed decisions regarding your end-of-life care.

Some things End-of-Life Doulas can help with:

  • working  through your thoughts, hopes, fears and emotions about death and dying
  • preparing advance care plans, end of life plans and living legacy projects to prepare for dying more consciously and peacefully and sharing your wishes for your end of life care with family and friends
  • keeping vigil to support you and your loved ones during the active dying phase so your wishes are carried out and you are not alone

What We DON'T Do

We are here to support you and your loved ones before, during and after death.  But there are things we don't do:

  • Provide financial, legal or estate planning direction or services
  • Offer counselling or other mental health services
  • Provide medical advice, administer medications, or other clinical tasks
  • Make decisions for you
  • Guarantee the decisions and plans you make
